Tuftonboro lies between Winnipesaukee and the Ossipee Mountains and comprises Melvin Village, Mirror Lake, Tuftonboro Center and Tuftonboro Corner. The Old-fashioned square dances at Melvin Village throughout the summer typify the friendliness and charming antique manner. During the summer its hotels and cordial guest homes are well filled; and fall and winter are gay seasons — with excellent hunting, skating, snow shoeing and skiing — and good ice-fishing.
